The Bible in our opening scripture says, "Then he answered and spake unto me, saying... Not by might, nor by power, but by my spirit..." (Zechariah 4:6). I love how the Message translation puts it: "...This is GOD's Message to Zerubbabel: 'You can't force these things. They only come about through my Spirit..." (Zechariah 4:6).
Now this is the line I want you to see—you can't force these things. In other words, spiritual growth cannot be rushed or imposed. When we encourage you to read the Bible daily, maintain a prayer system, and build structure around your spiritual life, it is to help you grow steadily. Every day counts. The psalmist said, "So teach us to number our days, That we may apply our hearts unto wisdom" (Psalm 90:12). Each day removed from your time is a day of your destiny lost if not properly used.
If by this stage in life you still don't understand how spiritual things work, you may struggle when setting big targets like, "This month, I will win many souls or pray like never before". The truth is, you cannot force spiritual outcomes. Instead, someone who prays systematically, reads the Word consistently, and disciplines themselves in their daily routine does not need special strategies—growth becomes a natural by-product of his lifestyle.
Remember, it is not by might. The Bible says, "...You can't force these things. They only come about through my Spirit..." (Zechariah 4:6). The glory of God is revealed through consistency, not by naming months, following themes, or simply relying on spoken prophecies. Your daily actions determine the outcome. A wise person once said, "Your destiny, your future, is hidden in your daily routine". Prophecies alone do not guarantee results—the life of King Saul proves that prophecies can fail.
It doesn't matter who laid hands on you or what prophecy you carry. If your daily routine does not align with God's principles, nothing will change. As the Bible says, "...I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life, that both thou and thy seed may live:" (Deuteronomy 30:19). You are the prophet of your own destiny through the choices you make each day.
So, choose life daily by walking in the Spirit. Set aside dedicated times for prayer and Bible study, and remain consistent. As you build structure in your spiritual life, growth will naturally spring forth, and the glory of God will be revealed in every area of your life.
