MARRIAGE WITH PURPOSE

Even every one that is called by my name... I have created him for my glory... - ISAIAH 43:7

Marriage is a beautiful gift from God, but it was never meant to replace your purpose. Before anything else, God already defined your reason for existence. You belong to God before you belong to anyone else. God said, "even every one that is called by my name... I have created him for my glory..." (Isaiah 43:7). He created you for His glory, not for marriage. You are not here just to get married.

Stop pursuing marriage as if your life depends on it. Stop feeling depressed because you are still single. You don't need marriage to fulfill your purpose in life. The Bible says, "For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them" (Ephesians 2:10). Who told you that your happiness is tied to marriage?

Go and find out how many married people are truly happy. If you knew how many couples wake up daily wishing they could rewrite their story, you wouldn't rush. If you knew how many married people check their marriage certificate every day, looking for its expiry date, you would slow down. You would take your time and enter with understanding, not desperation. The Bible says, "Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom: And with all thy getting get understanding" (Proverbs 4:7).

Marriage can be beautiful, but it can also be tiring and frustrating when built on the wrong foundation. Many people channel all their problems toward marriage as if marriage is the solution. There is nothing wrong with marriage—marriage is not your problem. The problem is a lack of understanding. Some entered without preparation, thinking that marriage is a mini-heaven where everything will automatically work out. That's not true. The Bible says, "Through wisdom is an house builded, And by understanding it is established." (Proverbs 24:3).

Going into marriage without understanding is like entering an exam hall without studying—you would be unready, confused, and overwhelmed. That's what happens when people marry based on excitement or emotion rather than purpose. You thought love alone would sustain it. You said, "Honey, it's our time! We'll be together forever". But when the storms come, emotions fade, and reality sets in, you realize it takes more than feelings to stay.

When those challenges arise, don't lose heart. Remember, "To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven." (Ecclesiastes 3:1). Take your time to understand God's plan for your life and your marriage. Wait for His timing and build on His Word. When you do, even in the storm, you'll have peace.

Marriage is not a race; it's a divine assignment that requires maturity, wisdom, and understanding. Don't rush into it to fill a void—grow first, learn first, and align your life with God's purpose. Seek His will, and when the time comes, you'll not just marry—you'll fulfill destiny with your partner.

Confession & Prayer

"Father, thank You for teaching me that marriage is not just about emotion or excitement but about understanding and wisdom. Help me to enter marriage prepared—with knowledge, purpose, and discernment—and to navigate challenges with patience and grace, in Jesus' name. Amen."
