FULFILL GOD'S PURPOSE

Epaphras, who is one of you, a servant of Christ, saluteth you, always labouring fervently for you in prayers, that ye may stand perfect and complete in all the will of God - COLOSSIANS 4:12

The Bible in our opening scripture says, "Epaphras... always labouring fervently for you in prayers, that ye may stand perfect and complete in all the will of God" (Colossians 4:12). Just like Epaphras, you should pray forth God's will and plans for your life. There is a purpose for your life, and you must fulfil it. This should matter most, because a life aligned with God's will is purposeful and secure. Those in God's will do not live confused lives; they are always in their place, standing perfect and complete in God's will. It is about where you are in God, your position in God—not where you are in the world.

God has already ordained the way each life should go. If you pray now and labour fervently in prayers for yourself, God will answer your prayer. How will God answer it? You will receive unusual, divine inspiration. You will be divinely inspired in the direction you should go. The hand of the Lord will come upon you, driving your life in the direction it should go. The Bible says, "Train up a child in the way he should go..." (Proverbs 22:6). There is a way to follow, a purpose to fulfill.

Life is not about pursuing personal dreams or desires but serving God's purpose. The Bible says about David, "...when David had served God's purpose in his own generation, he fell asleep..." (Acts 13:36 NIV). David served God's purpose, not his desires. He didn't pursue his own dreams. Life is for serving God's purpose, not for merely achieving things.

You could have the whole world, but as the Bible says, "What shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul?" (Matthew 16:26 SBA). You will live forever. The Bible says, "...the body is dead... but the spirit is life..." (Romans 8:10). Your body may die, but your spirit lives forever. Abraham, Paul and Lazarus are still alive. Even the rich man in Hell is still alive. Only God knows how long he was dead before Jesus told the story (Luke 16:19-31).

Men are spirits, and spirits are eternal. They do not die. The Bible says, "...God hath given to us eternal life..." (1 John 5:11). God, Satan, angels, demons, and human beings do not die—they are not like animals.

We are created with a purpose. The Bible says, "...we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works..." (Ephesians 2:10). The little time we have on Earth is for fulfilling God's purpose. Those who will join God on the other side are those who fulfilled His purpose here. Life is for fulfilling purpose. Those who live only for their own purpose—there is a place they will go to.

The spirit of God will guide you and give you the right inspiration to follow the path He has planned for your life as you pray. Stay in His will, serve His purpose, because your life here shapes your life forever.

Confession & Prayer

"Dear Father, thank You for revealing the importance of living for Your purpose. Thank You for divine inspiration and direction by Your Spirit, guiding me to fulfill Your purpose in my generation. I live for You and serve Your will with my life, in Jesus' name. Amen."
