Our opening scripture says, "And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils..." (Mark 16:17). Note that the Lord Jesus never said these signs shall follow pastors, evangelists or prophets. Rather He said, "...these signs shall follow THEM THAT BELIEVE...". Meaning, every child of God can cast out devils. If you are born again, you have authority over the devil and his demons, but there are lots of people, including Christians all over the world, who are afraid of the devil. Anyway, a man who is ignorant of the Word of God has every reason to be afraid of the devil. The Word of God says God's people perish because of lack of knowledge (Hosea 4:6).

Now, you don't ever have to be afraid of the devil because he has been completely defeated, paralyzed and brought to nothing. The Bible says the Lord Jesus "...disarmed the rulers and authorities [those supernatural forces of evil operating against us], He made a public example of them [exhibiting them as captives in His triumphal procession], having triumphed over them through the cross" (Colossians 2:15 AMP). And this is why He said, "...In my name shall they cast out devils..." Jesus has given us authority in His name to cast out devils. This is not a question of how spiritual or strong you are. If you are born again, whether you received Jesus yesterday or fifty years ago, you have the power of an attorney - a full legal representative - to use the name of Jesus. Jesus said, "...All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth" (Matthew 28:18). There's power in the name of Jesus. The name of Jesus can destroy that growth in your body, it can destroy cancer, there is nothing in your life you can't do with the name of Jesus. The Bible says, "And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus..." (Colossians 3:17). Do all you do in the name of Jesus - do business in that name, travel and journey in that name, and cast out devils in the name of Jesus. Refuse to be afraid of the devil. Use the name of Jesus against him all the time. Anything Jesus could do, we can do in His name today. Jesus and His name are one. Cast out devils from your home, finances, family: scare him out of your surroundings, he has been completely defeated and brought to nothing. Hallelujah!
