The Bible is not a book of suggestions or theories. It is the revealed truth of God, given to us to believe and act upon. Taking God at His Word is not just important; it's the foundation for a life of miracles and victory. God's Word doesn't require human reasoning or analysis to be effective. As Hebrews 4:12 says, "...the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any two- edged sword...". What God says is what He means. The Word of God is full of power, so when He says, "You shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover," (Mark 16:17 SBA), it is an invitation to trust Him completely and act in faith. Your role is simply to believe and do what the Word says. By aligning your actions with His Word, you release His power and authority into your situation. The Word of God seems too simple to be true, but you are not supposed to ask, "How is this even possible?". You are only required to believe and act on it. Can you just believe it the way He said it? God honours His Word when we act on it.
I remember hosting a healing meeting with a brother during my early years in ministry. Each time I want to minister healing to the sick, I would read to the people what Jesus said: "...these signs shall follow them that believe... they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover" (Mark 16:17- 18). I would emphasize the words—"They shall recover". I knew the Word, and I brought the people to my level of faith. Every time we acted on it, miracles followed, and we witnessed healings everywhere we went.
However, today, many Christians struggle to believe. They think there's something behind the act of laying hands on the sick, as though there had to be a special power in their hands. But if there was, the Scriptures would have mentioned it. Those who don't believe cannot see results with the Word. The Word of God works when taken at face value; learn to take God at His Word. The Word of God doesn't work for you because you are in trouble or in need, it works only if you believe. The key to activating the power of God is by trusting in Him and believing His Word.
Don't wait for feelings or a deeper revelation before you act. Believe it as it is, and step out in faith. Remember, God is not looking for those who analyse or doubt His Word but those who wholeheartedly believe and obey it. When you act in faith, His power is made manifest, and miracles follow. The results you desire are in your obedience to His Word. Dare to trust Him today, and watch His Word come alive in your life!
