Demons are real, and if you don't believe in their operations, you may overlook certain patterns in people's lives—patterns that run through families and generations. The Bible tells us, "The LORD is longsuffering, and of great mercy, forgiving iniquity and transgression, and by no means clearing the guilty, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation" (Numbers 14:18). It also says, "God... keeps his covenant for a thousand generations with those who love Him and keep His commandments" (Deuteronomy 7:9 SBA).
Satan mimics God's principles, using patterns to enslave families. In some families, sickness, blindness, barrenness, or poverty persist across generations. These are not ordinary occurrences but demonic manipulations. You may ask, "If I am born again, can demons still affect me?". Yes, they can. It's possible to experience demonic oppression if we fail to exercise the authority given to us in Christ. While being born again gives us victory, we must actively resist the devil's schemes. The Bible says, "...Resist the devil, and he will flee from you" (James 4:7). Demons do not leave by themselves. It takes prayer and the authority of Jesus to break their influence. Without consistent and fervent prayer, demonic forces can linger and manipulate destinies.
Demons can manipulate people to make decisions they ordinarily wouldn't make. Just as they moved David to sin by numbering Israel, they can push you toward actions that could ruin your life. They don't care how anointed you are—they seek to deceive and control you if you're not vigilant. Prayer is a powerful weapon against demonic forces. Midnight prayer is especially significant, as the spirit realm is most active at that time. Jacob's encounter with God happened at night (Genesis 32:24- 30), Paul and Silas prayed and sang at midnight, and their chains were broken (Acts 16:25- 26). Even Jesus' resurrection occurred early in the morning, overcoming the power of death (Matthew 28:1- 6).
Remember life is 100% spiritual. Your life is either controlled by the Spirit of God or influenced by evil spirits. If you're not praying, you are giving room for demonic activities. Be vigilant, as the devil seeks opportunities to manipulate your destiny. The Bible says, "For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places" (Ephesians 6:12). Through persistent prayer and the authority of Jesus, you can break demonic influences and establish God's will in your life. Jesus assures us of victory: "Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you" (Luke 10:19). With this authority, you can break evil patterns and establish a new legacy filled with God's blessings.
