Fulfilment in life comes from living out one's purpose. So what is your purpose in life? What is the meaning of your life? According to the Bible, your purpose is in Christ. The Bible says, “...everything [everything includes you], absolutely everything, above and below, visible and invisible... everything got started in him and FINDS ITS PURPOSE in him” (Colossians 1:16 MSG). Nobody will tell you this in school; many were never taught this growing up. That is the reason I am trying to reculture you now. Everything about your life is for Jesus, you were created by Him and for His purpose.
You should get married for Jesus. This means your marriage should honour and suit His purpose for your life. Don't just marry for pleasure or personal comfort. Ask yourself, “Will this marriage take me closer to God or farther from Him? Will it serve His purpose or distract me from it?” That is if His purpose for your life even requires that you marry in the first place. Otherwise, you have no business getting married if His purpose for your life cannot accommodate marriage. According to the Bible marriage is not compulsory.
The same applies to your job or career. Why do you want that job, position or promotion? It should be so you can serve God better and advance His Kingdom. When wealth comes, don't use it only for luxury or show. The Bible says you should remember "...the LORD thy God: for it is he that giveth thee power to get wealth, that he may establish his covenant..." (Deuteronomy 8:18). We make money not merely for comfort but to fund the Gospel and impact lives for Jesus.
If you don't understand this, you will keep living like sinners, who never have true fulfillment. The more money they have, the more they lose their peace, The Bible says, “Forthe love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith...” (1 Timothy 6:10). Many who appear successful outwardly are restless within. With all their wealth, they lack peace because they live apart from purpose.
So what do you truly want—money or fulfilment? It's like asking, “Do you want to just drink water or you want to quench and satisfy your thirst?” Of course, you want your thirst quenched. If someone gives you just one cup of water and it satisfies your thirst, that's better than an ocean of water that doesn't satisfy. That is how life is for people without Jesus, because alignment with His purpose is what truly gives fulfilment satisfaction. Don't follow the ways of the world; true peace comes from Him. Jesus said, “…I am the bread of life: he that cometh to me shall never hunger; and he that believeth on me shall never thirst” (John 6:35). Most people living in big houses or driving fancy cars—you don't know what they are going through. Most of them are restless, stressed, or even contemplating suicide, because material things alone cannot satisfy the soul.
Real wealth is how much of God and His Word you have inside you. That is true wealth. Everything was created through Jesus and to serve His purpose, including you. Don't live apart from your purpose. Your purpose is in Jesus. Align your life, choices, and purpose with Jesus to experience true fulfillment.
