The Bible in our opening scripture says, “That the communication of thy faith may become effectual by the acknowledging of every good thing which is in you in Christ Jesus” (Philemon 1:6). The word communication here means participation—that the Participation of your faith becomes effectual.
Too many Christians are not effectual. They suffer just like sinners—sickness, fear, complaints, and lack of progress. There is nothing to show that Jesus died for them. But the Bible says your Christian life—your faith—becomes powerful when you acknowledge every good thing that is in you in Jesus. Pause and reflect: the effectiveness of your life depends on how much you recognize and discover the good things that are already in you.
Yes, the Bible says “in you,” not “in God”. Too many people are not aware that there are good things in them. Just as light reveals everything in a room, the Word of God reveals every good thing in you.
A Christian is complete in Christ; the Bible says “…ye are complete in him…” (Colossians 2:10). There's nothing that should be in you that is not in you.
God is not planning to help you; He has already helped you. Listen, God does not help Christians. If you have been waiting for God to help you, you will wait forever. God doesn't help Christians. Christians are the helpers of the world. You are the helper. The Bible calls you the light of the world (Matthew 5:14). You are the salt of the Earth (Matthew 5:13). Something about salt is this: it preserves, adds value and gives taste. All the things you are crying for in your prayer are what God called you to give men. And you can't give what you don't have. The fact that God called you to give these things means you already have them. You just don't know what you have probably because you haven't been reading your Bible. You've not used the Word of God to know what you have inside.
Your life will become a wonder, effectual, by acknowledging every good thing in you. He didn't even say the good thing. If He had said the good thing in you, we might think it's only one thing. He said every good thing that is in you in Christ Jesus. A man in Jesus has good stuff in him. There are good things in you. No wonder the Bible says, “...Christ in you, the hope of glory:” (Colossians 1:27)—it's in you, not just in Heaven. Everything you need to live successfully is in your spirit.
The Bible says, “A good man out of the good treasure of the heart bringeth forth good things...” (Matthew 12:35). “Heart” here refers to the human spirit. Your spirit holds the treasure of all good things. When you focus on your inside, you bring forth prosperity, blessings, and effectiveness into your life.
Start acknowledging the good things in you. Declare it daily until your whole being is filled with the consciousness of who you are in Christ. That is how you live effectively and become a blessing to your world.
