When we talk about the Word, we must understand from the very beginning that the Word is not just letters or printed text—the Word is a person. The Bible says, “The word of God is living and active”. (Hebrews 4:12 NIV). The Word of God is alive, and because of that, it works in you. It is very active. My goodness! The Word of God is the power of God.
If you saw a snake lying still on the ground, you might assume it was dead. But if someone said, “Ah! That thing is living,” you would immediately realize the danger because a living snake can bite. In the same way, a living Word can work in you. The Bible says, “…For the word of God is alive and powerful. It is sharper than the sharpest two-edged sword, cutting between soul and spirit, between joint and marrow. It exposes our innermost thoughts and desires” (Hebrews 4:12 NLT). The Word works in you when you believe it.
Many of the things we believe in life are futile —things men have said, theories, and reports. Yet they affect us because we believe them. But God's Word is different. When you believe it, it enters you and starts working effectively in you. The Bible says, “…it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure” (Philippians 2:13). God works in you through His Word to make you willing and able to do His will.
When you believe the Word, the spirit of that message enters you. If you believe a lie a negative spirit like that of fear, can enter you too. That is why people become vulnerable to sickness, fear, or failure—they believe the wrong things. But when you believe the Word of God, it brings life, healing, and the power of God to work in you. The Bible says, “…by whose stripes you were healed.” (1 Peter 2:24 NKJV). The moment you believe it, nothing can change it.
The Word of God is spirit and life. The Bible says, “My words are spirit, and they are life” (John 6:63 SBA). Like Ezekiel, when God speaks, the Spirit enters you and sets you upon your feet: he said, “And the spirit entered into me when he spake unto me, and set me upon my feet…” (Ezekiel 2:2). When the Word enters you, it makes you willing and able to act. It can make you become what it says. It can make you do. It produces in you what it talks about.
God knew you from the very beginning: He said, “Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee…” (Jeremiah 1:5). And the moment you believe the Word, you align with God's plan for you. The Spirit enters you to guide, strengthen, and empower you to fulfill your purpose.
Choose to put the Word in you and believe the Word today. Don't let lies, fears, or teachings of men enter you to dominate and control you. Let God's Word control you. As you believe it, speak it, and act on it, your life will surely change. Everything in your life will align with God's plan of greatness for you. Hallelujah!
