When Jesus was born, He came from the seed of David according to the flesh. The Bible says, “...Jesus Christ our Lord, ...was made of the seed of David according to the flesh;” (Romans 1:3). Notice the word “was” He was the Son of David according to the flesh.
When He resurrected, the Bible says, “and declared to be the Son of God with power... by the resurrection from the dead” (Romans 1:4). The Son of David died; But the Son of God resurrected. The Jesus that died is not the same Jesus that resurrected. The one we serve today is not the son of Mary, not the son of David—He is the Son of God.
2 Corinthians 5:16 says, “Wherefore henceforth know we no man after the flesh: yea, though we have known Christ after the flesh, yet now henceforth know we him no more” We do not know Jesus after the flesh anymore.
Then verse 17 tells us, “Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new” (2 Corinthians 5:17). Based on verse 16, we don't know Jesus after the flesh anymore. Remember: “...if one died for all, then were all dead” (2 Corinthians 5:14). When He died, we died too.
His death changed His identity—and ours. We used to know Him after the flesh; now we don't. Therefore, if any man be in this Jesus, he also is a new creature. When He said old things are passed away, He was primarily referring to our natural life. That's what passed away. What passed away is our nativity.
We are not Nigerians. Old things are passed away. You have never been Nigerian, Igbo, Japanese, American, Indian, or Ghanaian—you are a new creature. The old man died; you are a brand new person with no past. There is a difference between new and renovated. You are not renovated, you are brand new! Until you grasp this revelation, you will always need someone to pray for you.
But new creatures don't need prayer or deliverance—deliverance from what? From who? The new creature is superior to the Devil; he casts out devils. Casting out devils is not just for pastors; it's for new creatures. They are higher than the Devil.
The new creature lives in the class of God. I am a new creature. The Bible says, “if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature. Old things are passed away. All things are become new” (2 Corinthians 5:16). Then it says, Behold! Behold means see! See that sickness, fear, weakness—everything of the old man—has died. Receive this truth. If you have diabetes, cancer, or any sickness, after receiving Christ, walk away from it. What you need is not prayer but a change of life. Even the demons are aware—they relocate when you know this truth. You're a brand new creature with no past, no limitations, and no nativity of the flesh. Refuse the old life and step fully into your new life in Christ! Glory to God!
