HOPE

…now abide faith, hope, love; these three; but the greatest of these is love - 1 CORINTHIANS 13:13

The Bible says, “…now abide faith, hope, love; these three; but the greatest of these is love” (1 Corinthians 13:13 NKJV) The word “abide” means to remain. So, at the end of everything—after all our preaching, evangelism, giving, and prophecy—what will remain after the Rapture is faith, hope, and love, but the greatest of these is love. These three things represent everything Jesus gave to us—what He means to us, what He achieved for us, and what grace made available through Him—“by grace are ye saved through faith;” (Ephesians 2:8). You are saved by faith. The subject now is not faith. The Bible says that among the three biggest things, faith is the lowest. Some have had many works—results of faith—yet, at the end, did not make it to Heaven because they lost hope.

Now, what is hope? Literally speaking, hope means expectation of something good. But which hope are we talking about? Colossians 1:23 tells us, “if ye continue in the faith grounded and settled, and be not moved away from the hope of the gospel…”. He said you should not be moved away from the hope of the Gospel this is the hope which is laid up for you in Heaven. The hope of the Gospel He is talking about is our being taken up to Heaven at the Rapture. It is the end result of all our preaching, evangelism, prayers etc. Of what use is it to preach, to go to the mission field, to have the largest crusade, or to give—if one does not go to Heaven?

What God is telling me to tell you today is this: Do all your preaching and all your mission work while keeping this hope of Heaven alive in your heart. If you know why you are doing it, you will never stop doing it.

You have to know that the reason for everything you are doing in Christianity is Heaven and just not to have a better life on Earth. The Bible says “…our citizenship is in heaven, and from it we await a Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ”. –(Philippians 3:20 ESV) This world is not our home. Don't be moved away. Be not moved away from the hope of the gospel. The hope of the gospel is laid up for you in Heaven! Hallelujah!

Ephesians 2:12 talks about those who are not born again: “at that time ye were without Christ… having no hope.” It was referring to the unbelievers. It said we were like them before, having no hope. When it said “having no hope,” it was not referring to someone who doesn't have a helper or a worldly expectation. This hope not about marriage, school, or government. It's a spiritual hope, internal hope. A man who is not born again has no hope in this world.

So hold fast to the hope of the Gospel today. Let Heaven be your focus in every step you take, and let nothing on Earth move you from this eternal expectation.

Confession & Prayer

"Dear Father, thank You for giving me the hope of the gospel. Help me remain steadfast, immovable and focused on Heaven in all I do. Let this hope guide my works, my faith, and my love for You, so that my life brings glory to Your name and I remain prepared for the Rapture In Jesus' name, Amen."
