Only the Bible defines your life. The Word of God gives meaning and understanding to life; without it, we wouldn't even know where we came from or why we exist. Jeremiah 1:5 tells you where you came from: God said “Before I formed thee, I knew thee, before thou camest forth out of the womb, I sanctified thee”, (Jeremiah 1:5). This is what God said. That's light—because God's Word is light.
How else would I have known that it was God who formed me? If the Bible didn't tell me, I might have thought I came into this world by chance—because my parents decided to have a child, but God said, no. He said, “Before I,” not “we.”
Your parents are not the source of your life; they were only the physical channel through which you came. They did not know you beforehand—they only desired a child, not knowing who would come. It was only as you grew that they discovered your uniqueness. But God said, “Before I formed you in the womb, I knew you...” (Jeremiah 1:5 NIV).
That's why the most important relationship you must establish in life is your relationship with God; It must come first. This Scripture reveals your true origin—you came from God.
Now that you know where you came from, the next question is why did you come? God gives the answer. He said, “even every one that is called by my name: for I have created him for my glory...” (Isaiah 43:7).
You were created for God's glory—not for shame, not for poverty, not for destruction, and not for sickness. You exist to display His beauty and excellence. When you understand this, you stop merely struggling to survive and start living with purpose. You were created to reveal God's glory—people should see your life and give praise to God.
When people see a quality product, they praise the manufacturer, not the product. An iPhone points to Apple. In the same way, God said, “I have created you for my glory” (Isaiah 43:7). Your life is meant to make people glorify God, your Maker.
Jesus said, “Ye are the light of the world...” (Matthew 5:14). You are not looking for light—you are the light. He added, “A city that is set on a hill cannot be hid” (Matthew 5:14), and then said, “Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven” (Matthew 5:16). That is the definition of your life. People see your works, your impact, your love, your excellence—and they glorify God.
The bible says, you came here as a solution. You are the light of the world. “Let your light so shine before men”—that means it is your responsibility, whether before one person or before millions, SHINE!!! Men are your assignment. When your life brings comfort to the hurting, hope to the hopeless, and strength to the weak, God is glorified. That is the purpose of life; Glory to God!!!
