GOD DOES NOT TAKE BACK

For the gifts and calling of God are without repentance - ROMANS 11:29

The Word of God teaches us the true nature of God. He does not take back the gifts He gives, nor does He forget the people He has chosen. The Bible clearly says, “For the gifts and calling of God are without repentance”, (Romans 11:29) This is the character of God. He’s not like a man. You know, there are parents who can stop paying their child’s school fees because of something terrible the child did. God is not a man. The Bible says, “God is not a man, that he should lie; Neither the son man, that he should repent hath he spoken, and shall he not make it good?”, (Numbers 23:19).

Oh my goodness! Now I understand why He was so committed to the Israelites. After God made a covenant with Abraham, as bad as the Israelites were, they were so terrible. But God could not turn away from them. God Himself said, “…For I am the Lord, do not change; therefore you are not consumed, o sons of Jacob”, (Malachi 3:6 NKJV). God cannot forget about the people He has chosen. God never takes back anything He gives. So what if the person is misbehaving? He will not take it back.

If God could take back anything, Satan would have no power today. Satan was given authority, wisdom, and gifts by God, but when he became corrupt, his gifts were not revoked—he only misused them for evil. Look around the world, look at the middle east, all the havoc in the world today—Satan is intelligent, powerful, and destructive—but God still does not take back what He has given.

Sometimes people misunderstand God. A man once said he hated God because God “took” his parents when he was just nine years old. At their burial, the minister said, “The Lord, who has given, has taken. Blessed be the name of the Lord,” and everyone said, “Amen”. But that’s not true—God does not take back. The gifts, the blessings, the calling, and the plans He gives are permanent.

If you’ve ever lost anything good in your life, it wasn’t God who took it. People often ask, “What about Job? God took everything from Job”. It’s not God that afflicted Job—it was the Devil. People say it’s God who permitted it. No, that’s not what happened. Proper study shows that Job was the cause of his predicament. He wasn’t living in faith, but in fear. He was expecting evil. Like some of us today, we live in fear and do not believe in what Jesus had done for us.

So today, remember this: whatever God has given you—your gifts, your calling, His plans for you—they are yours forever. You can trust Him completely. God doesn’t take back what He gives! Hallelujah.

Confession & Prayer

"Father, I thank You that Your gifts and calling are without repentance. Teach me to believe that You will never take back what You have given me and help me use them for your glory in Jesus’ Name, Amen."
