ACCEPT GOD'S LOVE

But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you; - Matthew 5:44

When Jesus spoke about the law, He said, “You have heard that it was said, ‘An eye for an eye, and a tooth for a tooth’” (Matthew 5:38 ERV). That was the normal standard—no arguments, no questions. But Jesus lifted the standard of life and love when He said, “But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you;” (Matthew 5:44). If God commands man to love his enemies, imagine how God Himself treats those who offend Him. His love goes far beyond what any human heart can express.

The Psalmist helps us understand this love. He said, “…Bless the LORD, O my soul, And forget not all his benefits: Who forgiveth all thy iniquities; Who healeth all thy diseases; Who redeemeth thy life… Who satisfieth thy mouth with good things…” (Psalm 103:1–5). Take note of the tenses. God continually forgives, heals, redeems and satisfies. He does it around the clock, even when we don’t care. The Bible says, “The LORD is merciful and gracious, Slow to anger…” (Psalm 103:8). He does not stay angry forever and “He hath not dealt with us after our sins; Nor rewarded us according to our iniquities” (Psalm 103:10). His love covers what justice should have exposed.

Even when you know what you deserve and how wrong you've been, God does not treat you according to your failures. This is not religion. This is Christianity—a living relationship with God Almighty.

Now the question is: When will you accept God's love in your life? God loves you, and He is not like a man. His love is not unstable or temporary. Jeremiah 31:3 reveals His heart: “…I have loved thee with an everlasting love: therefore with lovingkindness have I drawn thee”. His love is steady. His love is endless. His love is His invitation to you.

What use is life without understanding or accepting God's love? Who will comfort you when you are broken? Who will strengthen you when you are tired? God loves you unendingly, undyingly, and indestructibly. He did not ask you to change first. Many people say, “I'll come to God when I change; I'll serve Him when I am better”. But you can never change by yourself. Only God's love can change you. The Devil wants people to believe God will not accept them until they become perfect, but the Bible says differently: “We love him, because he first loved us” (1 John 4:19). His love comes first. Transformation follows after.

Allow God's love to reshape your thoughts, your habits, your decisions, and your future. His love is not distant—it is active and present. Let His love heal you where you are hurting, lift you when you are weak. Make the choice to respond to His love. Walk in it. Live in it. Spread it. Let God's love transform you from the inside out.

Confession & Prayer

"Father, thank You for Your everlasting love. Help me to receive Your love fully and allow it to change my heart, mind, and life. Teach me to trust in Your mercy and grace, in Jesus' name. Amen."
