WE ARE LIKE JESUS

Herein is our love made perfect, that we may have boldness in the day of judgment: because as he is, so are we in this world - 1 JOHN 4:17

We are not ordinary people. It is those who do not know the Holy Spirit that live ordinary lives in Christianity. We are like Jesus. This scripture is not poetry; it is identity. The Bible clearly says, "Herein is our love made perfect, that we may have boldness in the day of judgment: because as he is, so are we in this world" (1 John 4:17).

These words should be your conviction in life. They should define who you are, how you think, and how you see yourself. On the day of judgment, while others may run away in fear, we will run toward Him with confidence. Why? Because we are like Him. Lions do not run from lions. We have boldness because Christ is in us. He cannot be defeated, so we cannot be defeated. He does not fail, so we cannot fail. He does not get sick, so sickness has no place in us. That is why we can boldly declare, "…by His stripes we are healed" (Isaiah 53:5 NKJV).

Notice what the scripture says: as He is, so are we in this world. Not as He was. Not as He will be. Now. This is the present reality of the believer. This is the power of the Holy Spirit—to reveal Christ in us and make that reality alive in our consciousness. Without the Holy Spirit, people remain weak and limited, bound by culture, tradition and human opinion.

Many believers are still tied to culture and family expectations. They say, "In our place, this is how we do things," or "This is what our people believe". But the Word of God says, "Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new" (2 Corinthians 5:17). Your background, culture, tribe, and origin passed away the moment you came into Christ. You are a new creature with a new identity.

This is why some Christians go all out for God. They serve Him fully, without fear of people, traditions, or opinions. They understand who they are. Those who do not have this revelation remain afraid of offending family, friends, or society. They cannot fully commit because they have not renewed their minds. But the Scripture says, "And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind...." (Romans 12:2).

True boldness, commitment, and courage flow from identity. When you know you are like Jesus, fear loses its grip. Limitation disappears. You stop living by culture and start living by revelation. The Holy Spirit makes Christ real in you, and, "…Christ in you, [is] the hope of glory:" (Colossians 1:27 SBA).

So today, embrace who you are in Christ. Your true identity is not in your family, tribe, or past—it is in Him. Walk as Jesus walked. Love as He loved. Live without fear, failure, or limitation. This is your present reality. As He is, so are you in this world. Hallelujah!

Confession & Prayer

"Dear Father, thank You for making me a new creation in Christ. Help me to embrace my identity in You and walk boldly as You have made me. Let the Holy Spirit guide me, reveal the reality of Christ in me, and empower me to live without fear, failure, or limitations. In Jesus' name. Amen."
