SERVE JESUS NOW

And, behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to give every man according as his work shall be - REVELATION 22:12

I want to remind you again that the coming of Jesus is very close, and the coming of Jesus means two different things. This second coming of Jesus—He appeared to John and gave him the book of Revelation, telling him the things that will happen before the return. Toward the end of that book, He said, "...behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to give every man according as his work shall be" (Revelation 22:12). The coming of Jesus is a time of reward for those who are serving Him. And the coming of Jesus is also a time of judgment. It will be a blessing to many people, but for many others, it will be their worst nightmare, "we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad" (2 Corinthians 5:10).

There are many people who don't believe in Jesus. I'm not even referring to sinners now. There are many Christians who don't truly believe in Jesus. Because if they believed, they would serve Him. We are supposed to serve Jesus with our lives. That is what we are doing here. We are alive to serve Him. We are His servants, for the Bible says, "I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service" (Romans 12:1).

Somebody may ask, how do we serve Jesus now? What do we do to serve Him? It is simple. There are a few things we do in serving God. Serving God is not just about attending church; it is about actively participating in His work. Prayer is His work, as we see with Epaphras. The Bible says, "Epaphras, who is one of you, a servant of Christ, saluteth you, always labouring fervently for you in prayers..." (Colossians 4:12). Soul winning is His work, for Jesus commanded, "...Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature" (Mark 16:15). Giving is His work, because our resources are the vehicle on which the Gospel runs, and the Bible says, "...He which soweth sparingly shall reap also sparingly; and he which soweth bountifully shall reap also bountifully" (2 Corinthians 9:6). These are the ways we serve Jesus with our lives.

Jesus is coming again, and He will come with rewards for those who are serving Him. It is not enough to go to church. Make sure you are serving Jesus. Now is the time to decide. Don't wait until tomorrow to serve Him. Make every moment count. Align your life with God's purposes today, knowing that your faithfulness now will determine your reward at His coming. Be intentional, be committed, and stay active in the work of the Gospel.

Confession & Prayer

"Father, help me to serve You faithfully in this season. Teach me to pray, win souls, and give generously for Your kingdom. Strengthen me to be intentional in my service so that I am ready to meet You when You come, and that I may receive my reward according to my works, in Jesus' name. Amen."
