Vision is a function of the mind. It is a mental picture of a future state—a picture in the mind of what tomorrow should look like. If it is not in your mind, it will not exist in your life. This is the reason there are Christians who will never shake their cities or their schools until they leave this world, because they have not seen it in their mind. God will not give you the picture. God gave you your mind, and you are supposed to sit down and create positive pictures with it.
God does not use your tongue, your ears, your hands, or your legs for you. In the same way, God does not use your mind for you. The mind has multiple functions, but the greatest of all is the ability to create pictures of your future.
The question then is: what do you do with your mind? Your mind works both ways—it can produce negative circumstances or positive ones. If you dwell on the negative, it will happen in your life. Your mind produces the pictures, and those pictures will come to pass in just a matter of time, for the Bible says, "...as he thinketh in his heart, so is he..." (Proverbs 23:7).
If you dwell on negative thoughts long enough—thoughts of sickness or loss—they will manifest. You must destroy negative thoughts fast; do not tolerate them. Satan cannot bring negative things to pass in your life without your help; you have to help him produce them. This is why the Bible says, "Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true... honest... just... pure... lovely... of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things" (Philippians 4:8). This does not include gossip. Some people dwell on junk and then wonder why their lives look like things are falling apart. The Bible says to think on excellence; imagine what your life would be like if you actually lived by this scripture.
God is concerned about what you think, because it affects the outcome of your life. Things don't 'just happen'. Life is not a mystery where things suddenly turn for the worse without cause. It is not always "spiritual"; often, it is your mind. You create your circumstances and you are responsible for them. The person you are today is the person you created over the last five years by what you listened to and thought about. We must choose what to think about. If it is not lovely, true, or worthy of praise, do not think about it—and to ensure you don't think about it, do not even listen to it.
Your life is a physical reflection of your most consistent thoughts; so protect your mind with all diligence, refusing the junk of gossip and negativity so that you can dwell only on the excellence that God requires to build your glorious future.
