Jesus is coming back again, and there are only two things that determine when He will return. Out of these two, one has already happened, setting the stage for the end of the world. Any moment from now, the Rapture could happen. If a man does not go to Heaven, He will go to Hell—there is nothing in between. It is important that you do not take this for granted, because judgment is coming. Jesus said, "...this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come" (Matthew 24:14). He made it clear that the major sign signalling the end is that this Gospel will be preached in all the world. He didn't say everyone will believe—because not everyone will—but everyone must hear it. It will be a witness unto every nation, showing that the Gospel reached your city, your country, your nation. God doesn't want anyone to say, "I did not hear," or, "Who is Jesus?" so the Gospel will reach everywhere.
Every nation has heard the Gospel, so why has the end not come? The second thing is what we are all waiting for. Paul spoke of this mystery, saying, "For I would not, brethren, that ye should be ignorant of this mystery... that blindness in part is happened to Israel, until the fulness of the Gentiles be come in" (Romans 11:25). God allowed Israel to be temporarily blinded to the Gospel until the fullness of the Gentiles is reached. There is a specific number of souls God intends to gather from the Gentile world. Jesus came originally for the Israelites, but God opened the door to the Gentile nations and to all nations outside Israel. Now there is a divine number—a final soul to enter the Kingdom from among the Gentiles.
The challenge is that nobody knows how many more Gentiles need to receive Christ before that number is complete. But the moment the last man—the final Gentile soul—accepts Christ, we are out of here. The Bible describes this sudden departure, saying, "in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye... we shall be changed" (1 Corinthians 15:52). Somewhere on the Earth today, there is a last man. A final person whose salvation will mark the completion of that number. That is why evangelism matters. That is why preaching the Gospel matters. That is why your witness matters. You may be the one to reach that last man.
So live with eternity in focus. Be ready. Be watchful. Be committed to the harvest—because when the last man comes in, the King will come for His bride. Hallelujah!
