THE POWER OF VISION

And the LORD said unto Abram… Lift up now thine eyes, and look from the place where thou art northward, and southward, and eastward, and westward: for all the land which thou seest, to thee will I give it… - GENESIS 13:14–15

God doesn't bless you based on your prayer; He blesses you according to your vision. God said to Abraham, "I am giving all this land, as far as you can see, to you and your descendants as a permanent possession" (Genesis 13:15 NLT). God had to make Abraham see it first. He said, "As far as you can see". Just as God said to the Israelites, "…I have set the land before you: go in and possess…" (Deuteronomy 1:8). There are two different things: entering the land is one thing, and possessing it is another. God said, "Go in and possess". I've come to know that the people who make the most progress in Christianity aren't necessarily the "prayer warriors," but those who can see.

The ability to see is more important than the ability to pray. Most people cannot see—even something as simple as their physical appearance. There are people unaware that they aren't dressing appropriately for their stage in life. You could talk to them for years, but if they don't see it, they won't change. The Bible says, "Man that is in honour, and understandeth not, Is like the beasts that perish" (Psalm 49:20). This is the era God is bringing you into: not just being in a place, but completely possessing and influencing it. A person can be elevated but unaware. A ministry can grow, but without awareness they may not realize where God has placed them. Solomon said, "I have seen servants upon horses, and princes walking as servants upon the earth" (Ecclesiastes 10:7). This was strange to Solomon because the prince was unaware he was a prince.

God doesn't give you a vision; God gives you His purpose and plan for your life, but you are responsible for catching a vision in that direction. Vision is something you catch with your mind. One of the most important purposes of your mind is the ability to capture your future. God doesn't use your mind for you, just as He doesn't use your tongue for you. A picture your mind cannot capture will never happen in your life. People are poor because of a poor usage of their minds. Your mind is responsible for your level of prosperity. You will never walk into a life you haven't first captured with your mind. Vision is a mental picture of a future state.

Your destiny is determined by the boundaries of your sight. If you cannot capture the greatness God has planned for you within your mind, you will continue to walk as a servant while the horse of your promotion stands empty. Therefore, begin today to use your mind as the tool of faith it was meant to be, and catch the vision God has set before you.

Confession & Prayer

"Father, I thank You for the gift of vision. I ask that You open the eyes of my understanding so that I may see the land You have set before me. I refuse to have a small mind or a limited perspective. I take responsibility for my mind and I choose to capture a mental picture of the future You have planned for me. I go in today to possess my inheritance, in Jesus' name. Amen."
