PERSONALIZE GOD'S LOVE

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. - JOHN 3:16

The number one thing you need in your life that can change your life is a personal acceptance of God's love for you. Nothing will change in your life until you personally know how much God loves you. Nothing changes a man like the love of God. Most times, the only thing you need in your life that will change your life completely is the personal realization of God's love for you-as a person-how much He loves and cares for you, not just "us" as a group. The Bible says, "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life" (John 3:16). This love is personal, intentional, and not based on your performance.

The general statement "God loves us" cannot change you. In fact nothing from God can change a man if he does not receive it personally. We don't walk with God corporately; we walk with God personally. Until you personalize the things of God, you will not see their impact in your life. The Bible says, "...as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:" (John 1:12). God's love for you is not dependent on your behaviour. Is it good to behave well? Yes. We should live right as a way of showing God how much we love Him. Jesus said, "If ye love me, keep my commandments" (John 14:15). However, your acceptance of God's love is not earned by your behaviour-it is received personally.

Those with children can relate to this: whether you have one child or many, you may have one who is very pleasant and another who is very difficult. You will notice that your love for your children is not dependent on their behaviour. You cannot explain why you still love them in spite of their faults. While they may seem "terrible" in the eyes of others, you love them exactly as they are. You may rebuke them or discipline them, but your love? Nothing can move it.

How much more, then, does God love you? You cannot yet fathom the depth of His affection. The love of God will change your life. It will give you the confidence to know that God Almighty loves you as a person. He knows your name. He said, "...I have called thee by thy name; thou art mine" (Isaiah 43:1).

When you personally accept God's love, it transforms your existence. You begin to walk with confidence, security, and joy because you know you are loved unconditionally. Make today the day you stop relying on general truths or the assurances of others. Receive God's love for you personally, and let it change everything.

Confession & Prayer

"Father, I thank You for loving me personally. I receive Your love for me today. I accept that Your love is not based on my behaviour but on Your goodness and faithfulness. Let Your love transform my heart, give me confidence, and change my life completely, in Jesus' name. Amen."
